मॉनिटर लिजर्ड के अंगों के साथ वन्य जीव तस्कर गिरफ्तार<\/strong><\/p>\n

(आशुतोष शर्मा) हरिद्वार ।<\/strong> उत्तराखंड में वन्य जीव तस्करी का एक और मामला सामने आया है। हरिद्वार वन विभाग ने एक तस्कर को गिरफ्तार किया है, जो मॉनिटर लिजर्ड (गोह) के अंगों की तस्करी कर रहा था। इस तस्कर के कब्जे से चार हत्था जोड़ी (मॉनिटर लिजर्ड के अंग) बरामद हुए हैं। ये अंग अक्सर तंत्र-मंत्र, जादू-टोने और काला जादू में इस्तेमाल किए जाते हैं, और दीपावली के समय इनकी मांग आमतौर पर बढ़ जाती है।<\/p>\n

गुप्त सूचना के आधार पर हरिद्वार वन प्रभाग की टीम ने बुधवार को हरिद्वार बस स्टैंड के पास तस्कर गौरव शर्मा को रंगे हाथ गिरफ्तार किया। गौरव शर्मा, जो रुड़की का निवासी है, के पास चार मॉनिटर लिजर्ड के अंग पाए गए। गिरफ्तारी के बाद तस्कर को कोर्ट में पेश किया गया, जहां से उसे जेल भेज दिया गया।<\/p>\n

हरिद्वार रेंज अधिकारी शैलेंद्र नेगी ने बताया कि मॉनिटर लिजर्ड भारतीय वन्यजीव संरक्षण अधिनियम 1972 के तहत संरक्षित प्रजाति है और इसे अनुसूची-1 में दर्ज किया गया है। यह जीव छिपकली की तरह दिखता है, लेकिन इसकी लंबाई और वजन कहीं अधिक होता है।<\/p>\n

हरिद्वार वन प्रभाग ने नागरिकों से अपील की है कि वे वन्य जीवों और उनके अंगों की तस्करी के खिलाफ सजग रहें। वन्य जीवों और उनके अंगों की तस्करी को वन अपराध माना जाता है, और इस अपराध में संलिप्त पाए जाने पर भारतीय वन्यजीव संरक्षण अधिनियम के तहत कड़ी सजा हो सकती है। वन विभाग ने आम जनता से अपील की है कि इस तरह की गतिविधियों की जानकारी मिलने पर वे तुरंत वन विभाग या नजदीकी वन चौकी को सूचित करें, ताकि इन वन्य जीवों को बचाया जा सके।<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
